Haren Sets Tournament Game Record with 27 for LHS

Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdSenior Brooke Haren showed up and showed off in the final home game of her career at Louisville High School. Haren dropped in a game high 27 points to eclipse the Lady Leopards single tournament game scoring record in leading Louisville to its first sectional title since 2020.

The record was held previously by Alicia Knouff who recorded a double double with 26 points and also a team record 19 rebounds in the Lady Leopards 50-33 sectional win over Akron East on February 16, 2002.

Haren scored 6 in the first and added 9 in the second to put herself in double figures before halftime. She would add 8 more points in the third quarter, which included going a perfect 6-for-6 from the line, to up her total to 23 heading into the final stanza.

Equitable Advisors - Bryce MathieIn the opening minute of the fourth quarter, the Cowgirls nearly lost the ball on the baseline but kept it alive in bounds. Louisville sophomore Taylor McCully alertly secured the loose ball and heaved a lead pass to Haren on the other side of the court. Haren scored on the breakaway to put her within a field goal of breaking the single game postseason mark.

Haren hit the high mark two possessions later. She secured a rebound off a missed three-point attempt and laid it back home to give her 27 for the night. Haren was pulled a few minutes later as the Lady Leopards had the game in hand.

With her point total Thursday Night, Haren also passes Mandy Jaeb for second most points in a season in team history with 432. Jaeb accumulated 422 points during the 2006-07 season in 23 games played. Kerri Strobelt still holds the team record amassing 528 points during the 1980-81 campaign.
