Volleyball Takes Commanding NBC Lead After Sweep at Salem

Louisville 25-25-25, Salem 16-17-12

The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Volleyball team swept the host Salem Quakers 25-16, 25-17, 25-Beatty's Blue Shirt 201512 in a battle for first place at John A. Cabas Gymnasium Thursday Evening. With the victory, Louisville is now 14-2 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the NBC.

Georgia Kiko was the Leopards top server with 12 points and 4 aces. Kiko along with Kayla Cole & Emily Hollifield led the team with 9 kills each. Paige Haren also had 33 assists to round out the Louisville Offense.

On Defense, Hollifield finished with a team-high 4 blocks and Grace Jackson ended the evening with a team-leading 14 digs for the Leopards.

With the victory, Louisville now pulls two games ahead of Salem for first place in the NBC Standings. Marlington also fell at home to Carrollton 3-1, which puts the Leopards three games ahead of the Dukes.

Louisville has now defeated Salem in 4 consecutive matches overall. The Quakers fall to 10-4 overall and 6-2 in league play.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the West Branch Warriors on Tuesday, September 29. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 6:00 PM.
