The 2nd Seed Louisville Leopards swept the 3rd Seed North Canton Hoover Vikings 25-15, 25-21, 25-http://www.facebook.com/JenniferLBolyard/15 in the DI Uniontown District Semifinals Wednesday Night at Lake High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 22-2 on the season and advances to their second straight District Championship. They will take on the top seeded Jackson Polar Bears at 2:00 PM Saturday.

The Leopards were led by Georgia Kiko who finished with a team-high 4 blocks on defense and a team-leading 10 kills on offense. Kayla Cole and Sarah Lairson also matched Kiko’s double digit kill mark with 10 each.

Paige Haren setup the Louisville offense with a team-high 37 assists. Brynn Guist was also the Beatty's Blue Louisville Logo CoatLeopards top server with 14 points and 1 ace.

The Louisville defense answered the call all night long and never let the Vikings offense get into a rhythm. Emma Vacha finished with a game-high 24 digs and several diving saves to lead the Leopards.

Louisville last swept North Canton 15-10, 15-13 back on August 31, 1988 using the old system of scoring. The Leopards dominated Wednesday’s District Semifinal match in avenging their opening day loss to the Vikings. Louisville has now taken 2 out of their 3 last matches against Hoover overall.

This is the first time the Leopards have advanced to the District Title game in back-to-back seasons since 2000 and 2001 in Division II. Louisville is now 6-0 in matches played at Lake High School this year. Their last loss at Lake came in last year’s District Title game against Jackson 22-25, 22-25, 20-25.

The Leopards will attempt to win their first District Championship since 2005, but will have to stop the Polar Bears domination to do it. Jackson has won 6 straight District Titles and have swept their past 22 Sectional/District foes during a 67 set winning streak.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next take on the top seeded Jackson Polar Bears in the DI Uniontown District Championship on Saturday, October 29 at 2:00 PM.
