Volleyball Sweeps Defending Champion Carrollton
Louisville 25-25-25, Carrollton 12-11-15
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball team swept the defending NBC Champion Carrollton Warriors 25-12, 25-11, 25-15 Tuesday Evening at LHS. With the victory, Louisville is now 13-2 overall and finishes the first half of their NBC schedule 7-0.
Leaders for the Lady Leopards came from all over. Savannah Miner was the match’s top server with 16 points and 4 aces. On Offense, Paige Haren finished with a game-high 37 assists and Georgia Kiko had a game-high 11 kills. On Defense, Grace Jackson had a game-high 17 digs and Brynn Guist finished with a match-leading 5 blocks for the evening.
The Lady Leopards dominated the match from start the finish. Louisville trailed Carrollton just once when the Warriors scored the first point of the second set. However, the Leopards followed that deficit with a 10-1 run to take a commanding 10-2 advantage. Louisville also started fast in the opening set 6-1 and opened the third and final set on a 9-2 run.
The Warriors (5-8, 3-4) were led by Ali Poole who had 4 points & 1 ace serving and 3 kills. Mikayla Poole also finished with 3 kills to go along with 4 assists. Other team leaders included Kady Davis with 15 digs, Sadie Green with 4 assists, and Roz Pridemore with 2 blocks.
Louisville has now won 2 out of their last 3 matches against Carrollton. The Leopards hit the road for Salem on Thursday in a battle for first place in the NBC Standings.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Salem to take on the Quakers on Thursday, September 24. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 6:30 PM.
