Volleyball Sweeps Aviators, Cress Ties All-Time Wins Mark

Jodie Cress Louisville Lady Leopards Volleyball All-Time Wins Leader

Louisville 25-25-25, Alliance 12-22-15

The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team swept the visiting Alliance Aviators 25-12, 25-22, Beatty's Dark Blue Shirt 201525-15 Tuesday Evening at LHS. With the victory, Louisville remains an undefeated 5-0 overall and improves their league mark to 3-0.

Emily Hollifield led the Lady Leopards with a game-high 11 kills, a game-high 14 digs, and tied Paige Haren with a team-leading 3 blocks. Haren also setup the Louisville Offense with a game-high 36 assists and Savannah Miner lead all servers with 9 points & 1 ace.

Alliance (4-4, 2-1) was led on defense by Channing Thomas who threw down a game-high 5 blocks. Mary Zurbrugg was the team’s leading server and tied teammate Cassie Sierravalle with a team-high 5 digs. Mikayla Milburn was also the Aviators top hitter and Riley Grisez finished with a team-leading 10 assists.

With her 140th win, Head Coach Jodie Cress (140-80) joins her predecessor Penny DeShields (140-56) for the most wins in Louisville Leopards Volleyball History. Cress also ties former Head Coach Connie Surowicz (115-105) for most matches coached at 220 total.

With the victory, Louisville has now defeated Alliance in 17 consecutive meetings. In 15 of those 17 meetings the Leopards have swept the Aviators.

JV: Louisville 25-25, Alliance 6-5

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Marlington to take on the Dukes on Thursday, September 10. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow at 6:00 PM.
