Volleyball Makes Quick Work of Quakers, Now 8-0 in NBC

Louisville 25-25-25, Salem 19-18-7

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Volleyball Team swept the visiting Salem Quakers 25-19, 25-18, 25-7 Beatty's Sports Louisville Ohio Leopards Athletics White ShirtThursday Evening at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville is now 14-2 overall and remains an undefeated 8-0 in conference play.

Louisville rallied from behind to win each of the first two games, which included erasing a 7-1 deficit in the second set. Led by ace server Emma Vacha, the Leopards put away the Quakers with a 10-0 run and scored 18 of the final 20 points of the third set overall.

Vacha finished as the leading server with 12 points and stifled Salem with 6 aces. She also matched JennCanAdLouisville’s Brynn Guist and Sarah Lairson with a game-high 9 digs.

Kayla Meyers also finished with a match-high 13 kills and a team-high 4 blocks for the Leopards. Kayla Cole also filled in nicely for injured starter Paige Haren with a match-high 36 assists. Haren is expected to return to the lineup next week.

Salem (6-7, 3-5) was led by Chloe Cherense who finished with a game-high 6 blocks, a team-high 10 kills, and was the Quakers leading server with 4 aces. Other Salem leaders included Josie Miller with 13 assists and Alexis Cresanto with 8 digs.

JV: Salem 25-26-26, Louisville 21-28-24

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to West Branch to take on the Warriors on Tuesday, September 27. JV will begin at 5:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 6:00 PM.
