Louisville Lady Leopards Volleyball Volley for the Cure 2014

Louisville 25-25-25, Minerva 9-11-14

The Louisville Lady Leopards won convincingly over the visiting Minerva Lions 25-9, 25-11, 25-14 in the 2014 Volley for the Cure Game at Louisville High School Tuesday. With the victory, Louisville is now 14-5 overall and 9-2 in conference play.

Emily Hollifield led the Lady Leopards Defensive Attack with game-highs of 5 Blocks and 11 Digs. On Beatty's Sports Long Sleeved Leopard Nationoffense, Brynn Guist had a game-high 9 Kills, Haley Shadle had a game-high 27 Assists, and Kayla Cole was the game’s top server with 13 Points and 1 Ace. With high-energy coming from the Louisville Student Section, the Lady Leopards carried the momentum the entire way.

The Lions fell to 6-12 overall and 2-9 in the NBC with the loss. The victory for the Leopards sets up a showdown at Carrollton Thursday.  The #12 ranked Warriors are 17-1 overall and lead the NBC Standings at 10-1. Their only loss came at Louisville back on September 9.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Carrollton in a battle for first place in the NBC with the #12 ranked Warriors. JV will look to stay undefeated beginning at 5:00 PM and Varsity will battle for the top spot in the standings at 6:00 PM.
