Rahzul Young Louisville Leopards Shot Put Record with Coach John Henkel

The Louisville Leopards Boys & Girls Track Teams took on the visiting Marlington Dukes Tuesday at
Louisville High School. The Boys fell to Marlington 76-52 to fall to 1-1-1 on the season, while the Girls edged the Dukes 65-63 to improve to 2-1 on the year.

Boys: Marlington 76, Louisville 52

Leopards Senior Rahzul Young broke a 44-year old school record with a throw of 54 feet, 5 inches in the Beatty's Leopard Nation Long SleeveShot Put. Young’s throw eclipsed Ken Kuhn’s 1972 mark of 53 feet, 10.5 inches.

Other Louisville winners included Zach Fresenko in the 4×800 Run, Noah Murray in the 1600 Meter Run, Christian Hendricks in the 800 Meter Run, and Terry Gooch in the Discus Throw.

Girls: Louisville 65, Marlington 63

Both teams won 8 events each in a hotly contested meet. The Lady Leopards would narrowly prevail to pick up the “W.”

Adrianna Beaver won the 100 Meter Dash, Hailey Miller won the 400 Meter Dash, Devin Kring placed first in the 300 Meter Hurdles, and Morgan Cole was first in the 800 Meter Run to lead Louisville on the Track individually. The 4×200 Relay (Adriana Beaver, Miller, Alexis Shearer, Kring) and 4×100 Meter Relay (Shearer, Abigail Anderson, Ashlee Beaver, Adriana Beaver) Teams also claimed victory for the Leopards.

Karli Miller also took first in the High Jump and Hailey Kiko won the Long Jump for Louisville.
