Terra Ties Team Record with 4 Goals to Lead Leopards in Opener
Louisville 5, Fairless 0
Austin Terra scored a regular season team record four goals to lead the Louisville Leopards past the visiting Fairless Falcons 5-0 in the opener at Louisville Leopards Stadium Saturday evening.
Terra posted two goals in each half. In the first half he scored via a Penalty Kick and then via a Bailey Adams assist. Terra’s hat trick goal came after Mitch Perez prevented the Falcons defender from clearing the ball. The ball deflected off of the crowd of players toward the goal where Terra kicked it home. Beautiful Leopard passing and dribbling created the fourth goal by Terra. The combination of Perez, Derek Zeller, and Alex Stefanik setup the goal.
Zeller also scored his first career Varsity goal as he dribbled right before burying it into the left side of the net. Adams, a fellow Freshman, recorded his second assist of the night on the play.
Louisville’s defense also put on a stellar performance. Trevor Burk, Joe Davide, and Carson Pirie proved to be nuisances to the Fairless attack. Kobie Shepherd also added the fear factor on defense for the Leopards. In goal, Krisztian Toth recorded the shutout and answered the call every time the ball came his way.
Terra’s four goals tied Andrew Adams, Nick Meadows, and Aaron Wiseman for the single game regular season team record. Meadows holds the individual single game record with 5 goals in a tournament game against Ravenna back on October 23, 2010. Wiseman had three 4 goal games in 2006 which included the single half record of 4 against Canton South. Below are a list of all the Leopard Individuals who have scored 4 or more goals in a single contest:
