The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Softball Team scored nine runs in the first inning en rout to a 14-0 Beatty's Louisville Leopards Pink Shirt Winter 2015run-rule victory over the visiting Salem Quakers in the season opener Tuesday Evening at LHS,

Rylee Squire went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, 5 RBIs, and 3 runs scored to lead the Lady Leopards. She crushed a 2-run homer in the opening inning and then  slammed a 3-run bomb later on in the third inning. Both round-trippers landed beyond the center field fence.

Teagan Rice also batted 3-for-3 with a double & 3 runs scored, Kaycee Ollis went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, and Grace Jackson drove in 2 runs. Emily Cantley and Peyton McKeever also tallied one RBI each for Louisville.

In the circle, Kirsten Wharmby picked up the victory working 4 scoreless innings, giving up just 4 hits, Order Leopard Nation Highlight Videoand striking out 1. In her Varsity debut, Sarah Cantley preserved the shutout by working a 1-2-3 fifth inning. She struck out 2 in the process for the Leopards.

The Quakers were led by Bailee Thorn who batted 2-for-3 with a double. Clara Janofa also went 1-for-1 with a double and Rylee Leider had a hit.

With the victory, Louisville is now 11-0 all-time against Salem which includes a 7-0 record at home. View All-Time Head-To-Head Series

The Leopards JV Team erupted for a 26-1 run-rule victory over the visiting Salem Quakers Tuesday Evening at LHS.

Harley Mason pitched a 5-inning no-hitter and struck out 12 to lead the Leopards. Mason also batted 2-for-5 with a Home Run, 4 RBIs, and 3 runs scored.

Mason’s 2-run homer capped off a sequence that saw Louisville homer three times in 6 at-bats during the third inning. Olivia Monnot also had 2-run homer and Justina Sirohman cracked a 3-run shot. Sirohman would finish 3-for-5 with 6 runs batted in.

The Lady Leopards scored 7 runs in each of the first three innings and added 5 more in the fifth. Julianne Agnone batted a perfect 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and 2 RBIs, Jerzie Suydam drove in 3 runs, and both Rachel Israel & Ellie Jackson had 2 hits & scored 4 runs. Israel also finished with 3 RBIs and Jackson hit a triple & a double for Louisville.

Abby Hunter scored the only run for the Quakers in the third. She was hit by a pitch and then coming home later via the Leopards only error of the game.
