Speech & Debate December Tournament Update

Perry Tournament – Louisville 6th
Congratulations to the Louisville Speech and Debate team for their successes this weekend!
On Friday, 7 members of the team competed at Perry and earned 6th place in team sweepstakes.
Maddie Bigham earned 1st place in Informative Speaking, earning a bid to the state tournament. Maya Baxter earned 3rd place in Lincoln Douglas Debate, earning a bid to the state tournament. Alex Mohr earned 5th place in Programmed Oral Interpretation, earning a bid to the state tournament. Katie George earned 5th place in Humorous Interpretation, earning a bid to the state tournament. Kaylyn Butler earned 5th place in Declamation, earning a bid to the state tournament. In addition, Joey Duncan earned 9th place in Lincoln Douglas Debate.

Vermillion Tournament – Louisville 4th
On Saturday, Louisville traveled to Vermillion and earned 4th place in Team Sweepstakes.
Kenna Gnes earned 2nd place in Original Oratory, earning a bid to the state tournament. Jessie Stewart earned 3rd place in Original Oratory, earning a bid to the state tournament. Kylie Daum earned 4th place in Humorous Interpretation, earning a bid to the state tournament. Chloe Millard earned 4th place in Programmed Oral Interpretation, and earned their final bid, effectively qualifying them to the state tournament. Alex Mohr earned 6th place in Programmed Oral Interpretation. Lauren Clarke earned 8th place in Declamation. Katie George earned 10th place in Humorous Interpretation. Noah Capo earned 10th place in Lincoln Douglas Debate with a 3-1 record. Also having a winning record of 3-1 is Maya Baxter in Lincoln Douglas Debate.”

Tusky Valley Tournament – Louisville 3rd
Congratulations to Louisville’s Speech team who traveled to Tusky Valley and earned 3rd in Team Sweepstakes!
Jessie Stewart earned 1st place in Original Oratory, receiving a bid to the state tournament. Declan Deioma earned 4th place in International Extemporaneous Speaking, receiving a bid to the state tournament. Chloe Millard earned 5th place in Programmed Oral Interpretation, receiving a bid to the state tournament. Kaylyn Butler earned 5th place in Declamation, receiving a bid to the state tournament. Lauren Clarke earned 6th place in Declamation, receiving a bid to the state tournament. Malayna Swope and Sabrina Capito earned top novice in Dramatic Interpretation and Informative Speaking, respectively. Top ranks were earned by Kenna Dunlap, Kenna Gnes, Kylie Daum, Morgan Callan, Sabrina Capito, and Malayna Swope.

New Philadelphia Tournament Recap
Congratulations to Louisville’s Debate team who traveled to New Philly. Joey Duncan earned 3rd place in Lincoln Douglas Debate (4-0 record), receiving a bid to the state tournament. Maya Baxter also had a winning record of 3-1.
