The Louisville Leopards Wrestling Team competed at the Solon Comet Classic Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Louisville amassed 103.5 points as a team to finish 9th out of a field of 32 competing schools.

Criss Finishes Runner-Up in 144

Aric Criss placed 2nd in 144 and scored a team high 25.5 points to lead the Leopards.

Criss pinned Tyler Grant (Green) with 5 seconds to spare in the first period of his opening match. He then defeated Anthony Kinney (North Royalton) by 18-3 technical fall in the championship quarterfinal and won by medical forfeit against Caden Foley (Chardon) in the championship semifinal. Criss would drop a 7-2 decision to Greyden Gustas (Reynolds PA) in the 1st place match to finish as 144 runner-up.

Laughlin and Pollard Both Take 4th

Paxton Laughlin (106) and Xavier Pollard (113) both placed 4th for Louisville. Laughlin fell in the championship semifinals before pinning Stefan Drabiak (St. Ignatius) in 2:21 in the consolation semifinals to earn a spot in the 106 3rd place match. Pollard was defeated in the championship quarterfinals, but won three straight bouts to punch his ticket into the 3rd place match. Both wrestlers dropped their consolation final matches: Laughlin by fall and Pollard lost in sudden victory.

Other top scorers for the Leopards included: Abel Bolyard 10, Zander McCrobie 8, and Brayden Elsass & Beau Nezbeth who both tacked on 7. Rounding out the Louisville scoring were: Lucas Neff 3, Wyatt Skolosh 3, and Logan Demos 2.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host a tri-match with the Alliance Aviators and Canfield Cardinals on Wednesday, December 18. Match is slated for 7:00 PM from Louisville High School.
