Softball Surges Past Salem 12-2 to Extend Winning Streak

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball team defeated the host Salem Quakers 12-2 Tuesday Evening at Southeast Elementary School. With their fourth straight win, Louisville improves to 11-6 overall and stays atop the NBC with a conference record of 8-1.
Peyton McKeever led the Lady Leopards by batting 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs. Grace Jackson also went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles & 3 runs scored and Lexi Givens also drove in a pair of runs offensively for Louisville.
In the circle, Morgan Harris pitched a complete game, gave up just 1 earned run on 6 hits, and struck out 7 for the Lady Leopards. She is now 5-3 on the season.
Trailing 11-0, the Quakers did enough to force a seventh inning by scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth. Rylee Meals led Salem by batting 3-for-4 with a double and Courtney Waters had the only Quakers RBI.
Emily Cantley also had 2 hits and scored 3 runs for Louisville. Aliyah English and Kylie Zifer each had two hits for the Leopards as well.
With the victory, Louisville now lead the all-time series 10-0 which includes a 4-0 record at Salem. The Lady Leopards have now won 60 out of their last 61 conference games.
