Softball Rallies in Last Bat to Force Scrimmage Tie With Fitch
Louisville 5, Austintown Fitch 5, 8 Innings
Louisville rallied with four runs in the bottom of the eighth to force a 5-5 tie with visiting Austintown Fitch Tuesday Evening. With the tie, the Lady Leopards are now 2-0-1 in the preseason.
Katie Cozy led Louisville by batting 3-for-4 with a double and 2 runs batted in. Grace Jackson also cracked a pair of doubles & scored twice and Leandra Givens went 2-for-2 with a triple.
The game would have been a 5-1 victory for Fitch had it ended after seven innings, but the coaches agreed to play an extra frame. The Leopards made the most of it by rallying to tie the game in the last of the eighth. One single wild pitch scored Louisville’s final two runs as Cozy scored from third and Riley Bobo flew home from second.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to Kent State University’s Field House to play a tri-scrimmage indoors on Thursday, March 26.
