The Louisville Lady Leopards Varsity Softball Team run-ruled the visiting Alliance Aviators 11-1 in 5 Innings at Union Title Field Friday Evening. With the victory, Louisville improves to 16-6 overall and inches closer to an NBC crown with a record of 11-1 in league play.
Emily Cantley batted 2-for-3 with a 2-run homer homer in the first inning and an RBI single in the fifth inning to lead the Lady Leopards. Teagan Rice also finished 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and 2 runs scored for Louisville.
The Leopards out-hit the Aviators 15-4 for the game. Aliyah English, Leandra Givens, Grace Jackson, and Kaycee Ollis also had 2 hits a piece for Louisville.
In the circle, Kirsten Wharmby (3-2) pitched a complete game, gave up 0 earned runs on 4 hits, and struck out 6 for LHS.
With the victory, the Leopards have now won 14 straight against the Aviators and the last 7 at Alliance in the series overall. Louisville now leads the all-time series 22-5 while also holding a 10-3 mark when playing at AHS.
