Softball Concludes Preseason at KSU Indoor Scrimmages
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball team concluded the preseason with a Quad Scrimmage inside Kent State University’s Field House Thursday evening.
Louisville tied the Riverside Pirates 4-4 in a 4 1/2 inning scrimmage in the first game. Then after winning a coin flip, fell to Warren Champion 3-0 in 6 innings during the second scrimmage. The Lady Leopards finish the preseason 2-1-2.
Louisville 4, Riverside 4, 4 1/2 Innings
Peyton McKeever led Louisville by batting 2-for-2 with a double and a 2-run single. Grace Jackson also went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored two runs for the Leopards.
Savannah Miner also doubled in her only at-bat & added a run. Riley Bobo also found the plate once for Louisville.
Kristen Davidson also had two hits and an RBI for the Golden Flashes.
Warren Champion 3, Louisville 0, 6 Innings
The Lady Leopards were shutout in the second game by a very good Warren Champion team. Morgan Harris finished with 2 of Louisville’s 4 hits as a team. Lexi Givens and Peyton McKeever had the other two hits.
None of the Golden Flashes three first inning runs were earned. Brittany Allen had the only RBI for Warren Champion.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to Wadsworth for a Tri-Header with the Grizzlies and the Twinsburg Tigers beginning at 11:00 AM.
