Softball Completes Comeback Trail Vs. Explorers

Louisville 6, Hudson 5
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball team came back from a five run deficit to take a 6-5 win over the visiting Hudson Explorers Friday Evening at LHS. With their seventh straight victory, Louisville improves to 14-6 on the season.
Kylie Zifer batted 3-for-3 with three doubles, a run, and an RBI to lead the Leopards. Her double in the bottom of the sixth drove in Peyton McKeever for what proved to be the game-winning score. McKeever tied the game in the at-bat before with a double to left that scored Savannah Miner. McKeever would finished 2-for-3 at the dish with 2 runs scored as well.
Louisville recorded just 1 hit during the first four innings before rallying for 4 runs in the fifth inning. Grace Jackson provided a 2-run double and Katie Cozy smashed a 2-run homer off the roof of a car beyond the left field fence. The round-tripper was Cozy’s 6th of the season and the Leopards 22nd as a team.
Morgan Harris also pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief for Louisville to earn the win. She allowed just 1 hit and struck out 3.
The Explorers built a 5-0 lead through three innings capped off by Eden Janesch’s 2-run home run. Morgan Cox and Nikki Turner also had RBI hits for Hudson. Alyssa Brest, Cox, Sara Gedeon all finished with multi-hit games for the Lady Explorers.
With the victory, Louisville has now defeated Hudson in their past 5 meetings. The Lady Leopards lead the all-time series 5-1, which includes 3-0 mark at home.
