Leopard Make Quick Work of Minutemen 11-0 – Baseball

The Louisville Leopards Varsity Baseball Team run-ruled the visiting Revere Minutemen 11-0 in five innings Saturday Evening at Andy Aljancic Field. With the victory, Louisville heads into the tournament draw winning five of their last six games as they improve to 14-8.
Miller Tosses 1-Hit Shutout
Sophomore pitcher Cole Miller pitched a complete game one-hit shutout and struck out three to lead the Leopards on the hill. He allowed a two-out double to senior right fielder Ryan Shinek in the opening inning and issued a lead-off walk to start the third. Those would be the only baserunners to reach for the Minutemen as Miller finished the game retiring nine Revere hitters in a row.
Miller also retired the side in order in the second, fourth, and fifth innings. The victory is the first of Miller’s varsity career.
Morley and Siegfried Record Multi-Hit Games
Louisville scored in every inning which included hanging up a snowman in the bottom of the second. Junior second baseman Connor Morley led the Leopards by batting a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Junior catcher Karson Siegfried also went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Louisville out-hit Revere 10-1 for the game and seven different Leopards recorded hits in the contest. Senior left right fielder Zack Seaman slugged an RBI double in the second inning. Senior third baseman Caleb Miller and senior first baseman Derek Lizer also hit back-to-back RBI singles later on in the eight-run Louisville second inning.
UP NEXT: The Louisville Baseball Team will next travel to take on the Lake Blue Streaks on Tuesday, May 10 at 5:00 PM. JV and Freshman will host Lake at the same time. Freshman also travels to Green Monday, May 9 at 5:00 PM.
