Louisville Places 7th at Big District Tournament – Speech & Debate
Louisville 7th
Last weekend, the Louisville High School Speech and Debate Team competed at the Big District Tournament at Perry High School, placing 7th in team sweepstakes!
The finalists included Katie George in Humorous Interpretation, who ended up placing 5th and earning 1st alternate spot for the National Tournament, as well as qualifying to the State Tournament, Tayleigh Folden in Informative Speaking placing 6th, and Kenna Dunlap in Program Oral Interpretation who also placed 5th and earned the 1st alternate spot to the National Tournament.

Additionally, semifinalists included Declan Deioma in International Extemporaneous Speaking, Jessie Stewart in Original Oratory, Kenna Gnes in Original Oratory, Alex Mohr in Humourous Interpretation, Kylie Daum in Humorous Interpretation, and Maggie and Megan Begue in Duo Interpretation. Octafinalists in Lincoln Douglas Debate were Noah Capo and Maya Baxter. Additional top ranks go to Chloe Millard, Morgan Callan, Winnie Davis, Maddie Bigham, Beth Balough, and Camille Schmeid.
State Qualifiers will be competing March 4th-5th at the State Tournament in Wooster!
