Louisville Places 19th at DI State Meet – Girls Cross Country

Louisville Leopards Girls Cross Country 2018 at OHSAA State Meet

Louisville – 378 (19th Out of 20)

The Louisville Leopards Girls Cross Country Team competed in the OHSAA Division I State Meet Saturday at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. The Lady Leopards finished with 378 total places to take 19th out of 20 competing teams.

Morgan Cole finished with a team best time of 19:02.1 to finish 25th individually for Louisville. Cole moved up 3 places in the final split and took 17th among team competitor runners. After the race, she received All-Ohio honors.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdOther Leopards contributing to the team total included Cassidy Kiko (86th), Nicole Israel (125th), Kayla Gibson (130th), and Caitlyn Gatta (153rd). Other LHS runners included Sydney McKeever (154th) and Emma Patterson (162nd) who raced against a field of 176 Division I state runners.

Taylor Ewert was the individual Division I State Champion with a time of 17:38.7. She helped lead her Beavercreek Beavers to their second ever team state championship and first since 1996. The Beavers finished with 118 total places ahead of the state runner-up Centerville Elks (141 total places) who was led by second place individual finisher Emma Bucher. The third place Granville Blue Aces (142 total places) and fourth place Mason Comets (144 total places) finished narrowly behind that.
