Leopards Off to Best Start Since 2005, Now 7-0 After Shutout of Nordonia
Louisville 5, Nordonia 0
The Louisville Leopards Boys Tennis Team earned their third straight shutout in a 5-0 victory over the visiting Nordonia Knights Thursday at Louisville High School. With the victory, Louisville is now off to its best start since 2005 as they remain unbeaten at 7-0.
The Leopards won every match in straight sets as they blanked an opponent for he 6th time in 7 dual matches. Ryan Pukys won #1 singles by a count of 6-1, 6-2 and Griffin Millspaugh won by a perfect count of 6-0, 6-0 in #3 singles.
Louisville only surrendered a single set point in each of the other three matchups. Nick Eneix won #2 singles 6-1, 6-0. The #1 doubles team of Spencer Hall and Scott Gronow earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Oppositely, the #2 doubles team of Owen Pukys and Corban Brown earned a 6-1, 6-0 win.
The Leopards 7-0 start is the best since Head Coach Rod Hall took over the program in 2007 from the legendary Greg Parrish. Hall’s previous best start was 6-0 back in 2017, but before that you have to go back to 2005 when Louisville began the season 8-0 under Parrish.
The Leopards started 8-0 or better 6 times under Parrish from program inception in 1976 through 1991 when they last began 10-0. The 1979 owns the best start, and best finish, in team history as they completed the only undefeated run in Louisville Boys Tennis history going a perfect 17-0.
UP NEXT: The Louisville Boys Tennis Team will next travel to Ravenna to take on the Ravens on Friday, April 5 at 4:15 PM.
