Leopards 7th Inning Rally Falls Short

Louisville City School District Levy 2021 - Issue 13 AdSenior catcher Kaedin Gotshall batted 2-for-3 and scored the Leopards only run of the contest in the bottom of the seventh. Gotshall singled to start the frame and advanced to second via senior pitcher Tyler Jackson‘s ground out to the catcher. Gotshall then advanced to third on a passed ball and came home via sophomore centerfielder Charlie Roberts RBI groundout to first base to chop the Quaker lead in half at 2-1.

Junior third baseman Caleb Miller and junior right fielder Zack Seaman followed with back-to-back 2 out singles to put the game-tying run into scoring position. However, New Philadelphia pitcher Logan Wallace was able to get the next batter to ground out to end the threat and the game.

Wallace and Jackson Lock Into Pitchers’ Duel

Wallace pitched a complete game allowing just that lone run on 4 hits while striking out 4 to earn the victory. He retired the first 6 Louisville batters he faced to begin the game and didn’t allow a Leopard hit unto Gotshall singled on a line drive to left field with 2 outs in the fourth inning.

Jackson started on the hill for Louisville and pitched 6 strong innings, gave up just 1 earned run on 3 hits and struck out 6 in a valiant losing effort. He retired the side in order in the third, fifth, and sixth innings before giving way to senior reliever Tony Brahler in the seventh. Jackson now holds a 2-4 record on the mound for the Leopards this season.
