Game Recap | Scoring Summary

Zahler Throws Touchdowns to Four Different Receivers

Corey Street for Mayor AdQuarterback Cody Zahler spread the ball around, throwing touchdown passes to four different receivers as part of Louisville’s explosive day on offense.

The opening drive was highlighted by an acrobatic 46-yard catch by Hayden Reynolds, who hauled in a tipped ball off a defender for the Leopards’ first score. On the Leopards’ next offensive snap, Zahler connected with Drake Wilson on a 78-yard strike down the sideline for a one-play scoring drive that doubled the lead to 14-0.

Special teams set up the Leopards’ third score after Bryce Johnson blocked a Quaker punt, giving Louisville the ball deep in New Philadelphia territory. Zahler wasted no time, finding Caden Kortis over the middle for a 21-yard touchdown to make it 21-0.

In the second half, Zahler hit Stephen Hann on a 28-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter to trigger the running clock mercy rule.

Neff Adds Balance on the Ground

While Zahler led the aerial attack, Lucas Neff provided balance on the ground. After picking up multiple first downs on Louisville’s opening drive of the second half, Neff capped the series with a 7-yard touchdown run to push the lead to 28-0.

Backup quarterback Maddux Edgein also impressed late, finding Jeremy Wooten for a 41-yard gain on third-and-long to highlight the final Leopard scoring threat of the game.

Leopard Defense Shuts Down Quakers

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdLouisville’s defense was relentless, limiting the Quakers to just 90 total yards on 35 plays (2.6 yards per play). The Leopards forced five three-and-outs across New Philadelphia’s nine possessions and never allowed the Quakers to advance past the Louisville 48-yard line.

The defensive tone was set early as Massimo Roberts forced a fumble on the Quakers’ opening series, with Kortis recording a tackle for loss on the same play. Later, Dominic Collier and Xavier Berdella combined to stuff a fourth-down run in the backfield to end another Quaker drive.

Overall, Louisville out-gained New Philadelphia 406-90 in total yards of offense.

UP NEXT: The Leopards JV will next host the Alliance Aviators on Saturday, August 30. Game time is set for 10:00 AM from Louisville Leopards Stadium.
