The Louisville Leopards Wrestling Team competed against some of the best programs in the region at the prestigious Maumee Bay Classic, held at Oregon Clay High School. The Leopards tallied 89.5 points to finish 12th out of 57 teams, showcasing strong individual performances across several weight classes.

Barker Leads Louisville with 5th-Place Finish

Kaiden Barker (132) led the Leopards with a 5th-place finish, earning 17.0 team points. Barker started the tournament strong with a dominant 18-6 major decision and followed up with a decisive 10-3 decision over Jack Williams (Marysville) in his second matchup. In the quarterfinals, Barker continued his dominance by pinning Kaeden Lademann (Avon Lake) in 2:25.

Barker suffered narrow 5-4 and 6-4 losses in the championship semifinals and consolation semifinals. He would bounce back with a 13-4 major decision against Nathan Moser (Monroe) in the 5th place match.

Criss and Nezbeth Take 6th

Aric Criss (138) placed 6th, earning 13.5 team points. Criss impressed with a technical fall victory over Cayden Svab (Jackson) and a major decision over Ryder Alberty (Galion) in the consolation rounds.
Beau Nezbeth (144) also claimed 6th place, scoring 13.0 points. Nezbeth’s performance included a quarterfinal win over Marshall Morency (Anderson) and a fall earlier in the second round.

Rhoads and Pollard Place 7th and 8th

Colton Rhoads (120) placed 7th, contributing 14.5 points to the team’s total. Rhoads had a standout performance early in the tournament, including a first-period pin and a technical fall. He closed his weekend with a 2:40 pin over Taegan Gilmore (Medina) in the 7th-place match.
Xavier Pollard (113) finished 8th and added 7.0 points. Pollard’s highlights included a hard-fought 6-5 decision in the second round and a 10-1 major decision over Joe Couty (Springboro) in the consolation rounds.

Paxton Laughlin (106): Scored 4.0 points, including a second-round pin over Frankie Noga (Mentor).
