Leopards Rally to Force Tie with Marlington – Boys Soccer

The Louisville Leopards Boys Soccer team rallied to tie the visiting Marlington Dukes 3-3 Thursday Night at Louisville Leopards Stadium. With the knot, Louisville is now 0-1-1 on the young season.
The Leopards erased a 3-1 deficit with a pair of second half goals to force a draw with their long-time rivals. Austin Smith chopped the Dukes advantage in half with a goal via an assist from Brady Adams. Mason Foley then delivered the game-tying goal with just minutes to play off an assist by Riley Adams.
Louisville trailed 1-0 late in the second half when Kael Mickley found the back of the net via an assist from Riley Adams.The game went into the break tied at 1-1.
Nate Hottinger scored a pair of goals to lead Marlington in helping them build a 3-1 second half advantage. Macagey Laure recorded the other Dukes goal.
This tie comes after the Dukes defeated the Leopards 6-0 in dominating fashion a season ago at Marlington. The Dukes now lead the all-time series 19-1-5 dating back to the 2000 season. The last draw in the series was 2-2 tie in 2018.
Louisville is now 1-8-4 against Marlington at home in the series with their lone victory coming in the 2007 tournament. The Dukes are unbeaten against the Leopards in the 15 most recent contests following that tournament game.
