Louisville 7, Minerva 3

Rachel Baughman scored four goals in leading the Louisville Lady Leopards past the Minerva Lady Lions 7-3 Wednesday evening at Louisville Leopards Stadium. Louisville is now 9-1-1 overall and 4-0 in NBC play.

The Lady Leopards set the tone early by taking a 3-0 lead just 12:18 into the contest. Baughman broke Beatty's Sports Leopard Skin Grey Hoodiefree for the first goal less than three minutes into the game and scored again via a Sami Keefe assist five minutes later. Keefe’s crossfield pass a few minutes later sprung the speedy Lizzy Mont who found the net to make it 3-0 Leopards.

Before the half let out, Halie Barton added her fourth goal of the season. The Lions answered back to cut the lead to 4-1 at the break.

Just 3:12 into the second half, Baughman was at it again. She scored her Hat Trick Goal via a pass from Devin Kring. After a Minerva goal, Baughman scored her fourth goal of the contest on a blast near the left sideline. The ball found the right side of the net for her 22nd goal of the season. Baughman has scored in every Louisville game this season and has recorded at least one goal in 13 straight games overall.

Before time expired, Nicole Thompson assisted Mont on her second goal of the contest to make it 7-3 Louisville. For Mont it was her 7th goal of the season. Kelly Miller was also her usual self on defense as she eliminated several Lions threats.

With the victory, Louisville is now 7-1-3 against Minerva all-time including 5-1 at home. The Lady Leopards have won the last three matches in the series overall and are now undefeated in their last 12 NBC games.
