My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdLake and Louisville lit up the scoreboard and combined for 81 points in a Division II Regional Semifinal Playoff Game at North Canton Memorial Stadium on November 12, 1993. The Blue Streaks would end up defeating the #3 ranked Leopards 48-33.

The turning point in the game came late in the second quarter. With 29 seconds remaining Lake Quarterback Jon Kurtz completed an 8 yard touchdown pass to Travis Cook to give the Blue Streaks a 21-14 advantage. Kurtz would finish the evening 14 of 21 passing for 195 yards and Cook would finish with 8 catches for 108 yards.

On Louisville’s ensuing possession, Lake’s Shannon Schrock intercepted a Leopard pass and returned it 28 yards to the house with only 1 second remaining. Instead of being down a touchdown, Louisville was down by two scores at the break.

However, the Leopards rallied with two unanswered touchdowns to make it a one possession game heading into the third quarter. Quarterback Ryan Crislip found Dan Wilson for a 25 yard touchdown pass and Wilson ran in a touchdown from 27 yards away.

VanderKaay scored again for Lake in the fourth quarter, but Louisville’s Bob Burick answered right back with an 80 yard kick return touchdown to cut the deficit to 41-33.

The final dagger came when VanderKaay scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the game late in the fourth. He finished with 33 carries for 121 yards to lead the Blue Streaks. Jim Braccio also had 10 carries for 126 yards for Lake. The Blue Streaks out-rushed the Leopards 261-103 in the game.

Wilson rushed for 2 touchdowns and caught 2 touchdowns to lead Louisville. The Leopards finished the 1993 campaign 10-1.
