Kaitlin Twinem led off the seventh with a walk-off home run to lift the Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team past the Warren Champion Golden Flashes 7-6 at Riverside High School Saturday. With the victory, Louisville evens its record at 5-5 for the season.

Gionino's Pizzeria Oakwood - Mobile AdLouisville Varsity Leopards took Saturday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Champion Varsity Golden Flashes. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when Kaitlin Twinem hit a solo home run to left field.

Twinem collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Twinem hit a solo home run to left field in the seventh inning, doubled in the second inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Champion Varsity Golden Flashes got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ava Sylvester singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Louisville Varsity Leopards tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a triple by Maggie Baker, and a ground out by Taylor Thompson.

Louisville Varsity Leopards took the lead in the bottom of the third. Mara Mayle singled, scoring one run, to give Louisville Varsity Leopards the leg up, 4-3.

A double by Josie Perhach gave Champion Varsity Golden Flashes the lead, 5-4, in the top of the fourth.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer Side AdAddy Campbell was struck by a pitch, which helped Louisville Varsity Leopards tie the game at five in the bottom of the fifth.

A double by Anna Sirohman gave Louisville Varsity Leopards the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the sixth.

Taylor Rouan doubled down the left field line, which helped Champion Varsity Golden Flashes tie the game at six in the top of the seventh.

Katelynn Miller earned the win for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The reliever gave up two hits and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two. Taylor Schneider started in the circle for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The hurler surrendered four hits and five runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Carly Dyer led things off in the circle for Champion Varsity Golden Flashes. The pitcher surrendered 10 hits and seven runs (six earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking two.

West Main Vet Clinic AdLouisville Varsity Leopards amassed 10 hits in the game. Thompson, Twinem, Mara Mayle, Baker, and Sirohman each drove in one run for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Leah Claugus collected two hits for Louisville Varsity Leopards in four at bats. Claugus stole two bases. Louisville Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game.

Sylvester and Rouan were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Champion Varsity Golden Flashes. Sylvester and Perhach each drove in two runs for Champion Varsity Golden Flashes. Adalyn McIntosh paced Champion Varsity Golden Flashes with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.

Louisville Varsity Leopards will travel to Strasburg-Franklin Varsity Tigers for their next game on Monday.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards couldn’t keep up with Marlington Junior Varsity Lady Dukes and fell 12-6 on Saturday.

Marlington Junior Varsity Lady Dukes got on the board in the top of the first inning after Cameron Ream hit a sacrifice fly, and Ceci singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

A single by Miranda Fenske, a walk by Aubrey Reinsel, and a single by Emma Boyce helped Marlington Junior Varsity Lady Dukes extend their early lead in the second.

Ream hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fourth for the Marlington Junior Varsity Lady Dukes.

Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards scored one run in the bottom of the fifth on a solo home run to center field by Hayden Kerr.

Marlington Junior Varsity Lady Dukes scored five runs on two hits in the top of the seventh inning. Gabrielle Young doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Morgan Loar singled, scoring two runs, and Kayla Millan hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Young earned the win for Marlington Junior Varsity Lady Dukes. The righty gave up three hits and four runs (one earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Lyla Kandel pitched six innings in relief for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. The pitcher allowed five hits and six runs (one earned) while, striking out nine and walking two. Kylin Thorn took the loss for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. The starting pitcher went one inning, surrendering six runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking three.

Kerr provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Kerr and Reagan Samblanet each collected two hits for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. Ayverie Meister and Kandel each stole multiple bases for Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards. Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards ran wild on the base paths, tallying nine stolen bases for the game. Louisville Junior Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game.
