Louisville Varsity Leopards could not keep pace with Bullitt East Varsity Chargers 7-2 on Saturday.
Bullitt East Varsity Chargers were the first to get on the board in the fourth when Taylor Schneider induced Ryleigh Watrous to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Louisville Varsity Leopards scored on a wild pitch, which helped Louisville Varsity Leopards tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.
Louisville Varsity Leopards took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. An error scored one run, to give Louisville Varsity Leopards the upper hand, 2-1.
Bullitt East Varsity Chargers made the score 4-2 in the top of the sixth after Alivia Cooper doubled, scoring two runs, and Mackenzie Mingus grounded out, scoring one run.
Schneider started the game for Louisville Varsity Leopards. The starter surrendered 11 hits and seven runs (five earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking three. Watrous led things off in the circle for Bullitt East Varsity Chargers. The right-handed pitcher gave up two hits and one run over four innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Katelynn Miller, Shae O’Neill, and Leah Claugus each collected one hit for Louisville Varsity Leopards. Louisville Varsity Leopards turned one double play in the game.
Bullitt East Varsity Chargers tallied 11 hits in the game. Allie Carter, Cooper, Payton Holt, and Mingus each collected two hits for Bullitt East Varsity Chargers. Cooper and Watrous each drove in two runs for Bullitt East Varsity Chargers.
Louisville Varsity Leopards play at home on Wednesday against Ursuline Irish in their next game.
