Louisville Speech & Debate Competes at Copley & Wooster
Copley Tournament
“Last weekend, the Louisville High School Speech and Debate Team competed at the Copley Tournament and received 5th place in team sweepstakes. In Declamation, Taryn Allgood placed 2nd and Tayleigh Folden placed 4th, with both of them getting bids to the state tournament. Jessie Stewart placed 4th in Original Oratory, also receiving a state bid. Kenna Dunlap placed 6th in Program Oral Interpretation. Declan Deioma placed 8th in International Extemporaneous Speaking. In Duo Interpretation, Maggie and Megan Begue placed 8th and Morgan Callan and Winnie Davis were the best novice. Isaiah Gray placed 9th in Congressional Debate. Ally Ivey placed 10th in Dramatic Interpretation. Joey Duncan was the third best novice in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Also earning top ranks were Mary Begue and Beth Balough. They will compete December 4th at Wadsworth!”

Wooster Tournament
“Last weekend, the Louisville High School Speech and Debate Team competed at the Wooster Tournament where they had great success with some students even receiving bids to the state tournament. In Declamation, Tayleigh Folden was the champion receiving a state bid and Taryn Allgood placed 8th. Jessie Stewart placed 2nd in Original Oratory, also receiving a state bid. In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Noah Capo placed 3rd, earning a state bid, Maya Baxter placed 4th, and Joey Duncan placed 8th. Isaiah Gray placed 3rd in Congressional Debate. Kenna Dunlap placed 8th in Program Oral Interpretation. In Duo Interpretation, Maggie and Megan Begue placed 8th and Morgan Callan and Winnie Davis were the 3rd best novices. Declan Deioma placed 8th in International Extemporaneous Speaking.”
