Louisville Opens With 52-15 Win at St. Vincent-St. Mary – Wrestling

The Louisville Leopards Wrestling Team opened up the new season with a convincing 52-15 road victory over the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish Saturday Afternoon at Lebron James Arena.

Junior Connor Novosel (120), senior Josiah Walker (144), senior Brenden Severs (165), and senior Blake Schaffer (190) all recorded pins to lead the Leopards. Top ranked senior Pablo Castro (132) also won by 13-3 major decision against 13th ranked freshman Braden Dunlap to highlight another key Louisville victory.

The Leopards won 10 of the 14 bouts overall. Other Louisville wrestlers winning by decision included sophomore Kolten Barker (113) and Cameron Brazek (285).

Bryson Getz (215) won by fall to lead St. Vincent-St. Mary. Bryce Skinner (126), Mason Gruic (157), and Ryan Price (175) also earned decisions for the Fighting Irish.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next host the Tuslaw Mustangs from Youth Night on Wednesday, December 8. Match is set to begin at 7:00 PM from Louisville High School.
