The Louisville Leopards Boys Golf Team won a close tri-match with the Waterloo Vikings and the host Lake Center Christian Tigers Thursday at Sable Creek Golf Course. Louisville defeated both Waterloo and Lake Center Christian 177-180 to even their record at 4-4 on the season.
Jack Mayle shot a team low 43 and Ryan Aljancic tallied a 44 to lead the Leopards. Both Cole Miller and Sam Karcher also carded 45 to round out the Louisville scoring.
Both Lake Center Christian and Waterloo finished with a team score of 180 as a team. The Vikings would take second place for the tri-match virtue of a 5th card tie-breaker as a result. Waterloo’s Noah Hughes out-shot Lake Center’s Logan Jones 47-53 to break the tie.
The Vikings (14-5) were led by Luke Simons who shot a team best 44. Both Gavin English and Hunter Rothernel shot 45 each and Tucker Brown finished with 46 to round out the rest of Waterloo’s top four scorers.
The Tigers (8-7) were led by Nathan Capeta who finished as match medalist in recording a 42 for the day. Other scorers for Lake Center Christian included Thomas Fulk 43, Kobe Byler 45, and Dylan Maninga 50.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next compete at the Stark County Invitational on Saturday, September 19. Tournament is slated to begin at 9:00 AM from Glenmoor Country Club.
