Leopards Win 5-0 at West Branch – Boys Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Boys Tennis Team swept the host West Branch Warriors 5-0 Tuesday Evening on the campus of WBHS. With the victory, Louisville improves to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the NBC.
The Leopards won three of their matches in straight sets. Nick Eneix won #3 Singles 6-1, 6-1. Asa Herron and Zach Eddins won 6-2, 6-2 in #1 Doubles and Spencer Hall and Seth Gronow won 6-1, 6-2 in #2 Doubles for Louisville.
Each of the top singles matches went to a third set. In #1 Singles Ryan Pukys earned a convincing 6-2 win in the opening set, but stunningly dropped the second set 6-0 to West Branch’s Marshall Ney. Pukys rebounded to win the final set 6-1 and take the match.

In #2 Doubles, the Leopards Ryan Richards won the opening set 6-2, but fell in a tie-beaker 7-5 to the Warriors Alex Kidd in the second set. The evenly matched opponents battled on into the third set, which again went to a tie-breaker. Richards claimed the tie-break 7-1 to win the match 6-2, 6-7, 7-6.
With the win, Louisville has now defeated West Branch in 19 straight dual matches. The Leopards lead the all-time series 59-4 and have now won 44 straight NBC meetings.
