The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated the host Tallmadge Blue Devils 41-35 Saturday afternoon at Tallmadge High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 10-3 on the season.

Haren Leads Leopards With Game High 13

Sophomore guard Brooke Haren poured in a game high 13 points to lead the Lady Leopards. Freshman guard Courtney Barwick also hit 3 three-pointers and scored 9, senior Kendal Loy had 7, and senior forward Aubrey Thorne made a pair of three-pointers to finish with 6.

Louisville held Tallmadge to only a single field goal in each of the first two quarters of play. The Leopards led 7-5 after the first quarter and extended their advantage to 17-10 by the break.

Louisville would outscore the Blue Devils 15-12 in third quarter to pull ahead by double digits at 32-22 heading into the fourth quarter. Tallmadge would cut into that lead in the final quarter outscoring the Leopards 13-9. However, Louisville converted 6 of 9 free throws in the final stanza which proved to be the difference in the final outcome.


Gray Leads Blue Devils With Team High 12

Jenny Can Cleaning AdThe Blue Devils were led by sophomore guard Lexi Gray who made a pair of three-pointers and finished with a team high 12. Sophomore guard Ashlyn Severns also made 2 three-pointers and finished with 8. Junior guard Maya Dexter tacked on 7 for Tallmadge as well.

The Leopards are now 4-0 against the Blue Devils all-time, which includes a 2-0 mark when playing at Tallmadge. This was Louisville’s first trip to THS since their inaugural meeting in 2015.
