Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell to the host St. Ignatius Wildcats at Sullivan Gym Friday Night. The loss snaps the Leopards four game winning streak as they drop to 9-5 on the season.

Allen Staley scored a team-high 9 points to lead the Leopards. Collin Chambers also hit a pair of three-pointers and finished with 8. Scotty Gronow also added 4.

St. Ignatius led the entire way in taking an 11-6 lead at the end of the first and expanding their advantage to 29-13 at the break. Louisville began the second half on an 8-1 run to cut the deficit to single digits at 30-21, but that would be the smallest the gap would get.

The Wildcats answered with a 13-2 run to take a 20-point lead before a Colton Jones‘ Leopard three-pointer made it 43-26 at the two minute mark of the third quarter. Iggy followed that with a 19-0 run over the next six and half minutes to take an insurmountable 62-26 advantage.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdSt. Ignatius was led by Senior Guard Chase Toppin who scored a game-high 20 points. Senior Griffin Hanna also hit home 3 three-pointers in scoring 13 and Sophomore Guard Jonathan Effertz added 7. Thirteen different Wildcats scored from the field during the contest.

St. Ignatius now leads the all-time series 2-1 as they also won last year’s meeting 60-55 at Louisville. The Leopards erased a 16-point deficit to win the first ever meeting between the two schools 67-65 at the Alliance Christmas Classic in 2015.
