Lady Leopards Rock Raiders 8-1 in Road Scrimmage – Softball
Louisville 8, South Range 1
The Louisville Leopards Varsity Softball Team earned an 8-1 road victory against the host South Range Raiders in scrimmage action Tuesday Evening. With the win, Louisville remains unbeaten in the preseason at 3-0.
Starter Sarah Cantley pitched 4 scoreless innings, gave up 1 hit, and struck out 8 to lead the Lady Leopards. With a 2-0 lead, Shae Thomas finished out the final 3 innings giving up just 1 run and striking out 2 to earn the save.
Justina Sirohman got Louisville on the board in the second inning with a 1-out double scoring Kaylee Nolte from first. She then came home later in the inning on a 2-out RBI single to center by Lexi Zavarelle to put the Leopards ahead 2-0. Sirohman would finish the evening 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs to lead the offense.
Louisville ripped the game open with 5 runs in the final two innings. Nolte drove in Katie Porter to begin a 3-run Leopards sixth. Lauren Bennett and Kaycee Ollis also added RBI singles.
UP NEXT: The Louisville Leopards Softball Team will next host the Youngstown Ursuline Fighting Irish in their final scrimmage on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 AM.
