Lingenhoel Group - Arden and Lisa Lingenhoel - Cutler Real Estate AdThe Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team rolled past the host Orrville Red Riders 64-35 Wednesday Night at Orrville High School. With the victory, Louisville improves to 9-8 on the season.

Will Aljancic scored 10 of his game-high 14 points in the second half to lead the Leopards. Cory Noble also dropped in 12 points all from the field. Dakota Hoffman hit a pair of three-pointers and finished with 9 as well for Louisville.

Leopards Put Game On Ice with 22-0 Run

Leopards never trailed throughout the contest. They built an 18-8 lead at the end of the first and pulled ahead 27-14 by halftime. 

Louisville turned their double digit halftime lead into a second half blowout. The Leopards ended the third quarter on a 22-0 run to take a 54-18 lead. LHS held Orrville scoreless for a span of 6:56 into the second minute of the fourth quarter.


Speicher Leads Red Riders with Team-High 10

Sophomore Calvin Speicher led the Red Riders with a team-high 10 points. Sophomore Dan Malicut also scored 8 and senior Cooper Haley added 7 for Orrville.

My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdPrior to Wednesday’s game, the Leopards and Red Riders previous six meetings all came in the postseason. Their last matchup together came in the 2005 DII Canton District Semifinals, a game Orrville won 55-51. This was the Leopards first victory over the Red Riders since they defeated them 47-46 in the 2000 DII Canton District Semifinals.

LHS has now defeated OHS in each of their past 7 regular season matchups, with the previous six spanning from 1931-1952. Louisville is now 9-5 against Orrville dating back to the 1931 season*.

*This does not include at least three meetings between Louisville and Orrville prior to 1931 in which records are not yet accounted for.

UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to face the Massillon Tigers on Friday, February 12. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
