The Louisville Leopards Boys Varsity Basketball Team fell to the visiting Cardinal Mooney Cardinals 60-48 Tuesday Night at Louisville High School. With the loss, Louisville falls to an even 8-8 on the season.
Junior Tyler Boldon scored a team-high 10 points to lead the Leopards. Sophomore Will Aljancic and senior Broc Pickens also added 9 points a piece for Louisville. Both Aljancic and Boldon hit home a pair of three-pointers each as well.
The Cardinals never trailed throughout the contest in taking a 10-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Leopards scored to open the second quarter when Pickens split a pair of free throws to knot the game at 10-10.
Mooney answered back with a 13-1 run and never looked back. The Cardinals led 31-15 at the half and increased their advantage to 48-30 at the end of three. Louisville outscored Cardinal Mooney 18-12 in the final stanza, but the Cardinals still secured the double digit victory.
Hergenrother Leads Mooney with Game-High 27
Cardinal Mooney was led by junior Mick Hergenrother who made 3 three-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points. Senior guard Thomas Fire also scored 13 and senior guard Michael Pelini added 12.
The Leopards are now 2-1 against the Cardinals all-time which includes a 1-1 record in games played at Louisville High School.
UP NEXT: The Leopards will next travel to face the Orrville Red Riders on Wednesday, February 10. JV will begin at 5:30 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:00 PM.
