My Fit Life Personal Trainer AdThe Louisville Leopards Freshman Football Team rallied for a 16-12 victory over the host New Philadelphia Quakers Thursday Evening. With the victory, Louisville is now 2-0-1 on the year.

The Leopards trailed 12-0 in the second quarter before rallying with a pair of touchdowns to take the lead. With under three minutes to go before halftime, Quarterback Charlie Roberts threw a pass to Wide Receiver Chase Mueller who pitched it back to Runningback Andrew Essik for a 29 yard touchdown. Roberts found Jacob Davide for the conversion attempt to cut the New Philadelphia lead to 12-8 by halftime.

Beatty's Sports Football 2018 Schedule Shirt T-ShirtThe Leopards took the lead early on in the third quarter when Essik scored on a 15 yard touchdown run. Davide ran in the conversion try to put Louisville up 16-12 with 5:52 left to play in the third.

The Leopards defense shut down the Quakers the rest of the way to preserve the lead and eventually the victory. Joey Johnson, Kaden Pawley, and Davide led Louisville’s second half shutout effort.

UP NEXT: The Leopards Freshman will next host the Lake Blue Streaks in their home opener on Thursday, September 19 at 5:00 PM.
