Louisville Falls At Mentor in OTCA Tournament Opener – Girls Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team fell to the host Mentor Cardinals 4-1 Friday in the first round of the DI OTCA Team Tournament. With the loss, Louisville drops to an even 2-2.

Rachel Kibler won a hard fought match in #1 singles to claim the Lady Leopards only victory. Kibler defeated Payton Sikora 6-4, 4-6, 10-7.

The Cardinals won every other matchup in straight sets. Emily Hoffman defeated Sherilynn Mullett 6-1, 6-4 in #2 singles. Gia Paglio defeated Jade Thomas 6-1, 6-2 in #3 singles.

In doubles action, the Mentor duo of Ana Paglio & Elli Reilly defeated Louisville’s Ashley Dadisman & Bailey Menegay 6-1, 6-2 in #1 doubles. The Cardinal combo of Jenna Davis & Kaley McLaughlin also defeated the Leopards tandem of Sophie Warnier & Katie Yarnall 6-2, 6-0.

This was the first ever meeting between the two schools in girls tennis.
