Lady Leopards Sweep Blue Streaks 5-0 – Girls Tennis

The Louisville Leopards Girls Tennis Team shutout the host Lake Blue Streaks 5-0 Wednesday at Lake High School. With the season series sweep, the Lady Leopards are now 9-2 on the season.
Just like they did in their first meeting on August 22 at Louisville, the Leopards won all three singles matches in straight sets. Rachel Kibler earned a dominated 6-1, 6-2 victory in #1 singles. Jo Menegay blanked her opponent in the first set en rout to winning #2 singles by the count of 6-0, 6-3. Sherilynn Mullett also won 6-2, 6-2 in #3 singles.
The Louisville doubles teams lost both matches against Lake in two sets in their meeting earlier this year. In two more hard fought matches, the Lady Leopards doubles teams reversed their fortunes to earn victories and complete the team shutout of the Blue Streaks. The #1 doubles team of Amanda Plaskett and Jade Thomas won a see-saw battle 6-1, 6-7 (2-7), 6-2. The #2 doubles team of Carleen Fouts and Bailey Menegay was also victorious by a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 count.
Louisville has now won 13 straight against Lake overall. The Lady Leopards are now 32-4 against the Blue Streaks all-time with this being the 10th time they’ve shut them out.
