Louisville Can’t Overcome 1st Quarter at Lake – Girls Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell to the host Lake Blue Streaks 52-35 Monday Night at Lake High School. With the loss, Louisville is now 6-4 on the season.
Sherilynn Mullett scored a team-high 15 points and made 2 three-pointers to lead the Lady Leopards. Paige Cole also tallied 7 and Kelsey Adelman added 5 for LHS..
The Blue Streaks stormed out of the gate in building a 27-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended their advantage to 38-17 by halftime. Louisville outscored Lake 18-14 in the second half which included winning the third quarter 12-4.
The Lady Streaks (3-6) were led by Kylie Dyrlund who dropped in a game-high 16 points and snagged a game leading 9 rebounds. Abby Stephens also hit 3 of the Blue Streaks 6 three-pointers to finish with 13. Jessica LeBeau finished with 8 and Ellie Begue also added 7.
Lake out-rebounded Louisville 29-24 for the game. Kayla Gibson led the Lady Leopards with 5 boards.
The Lady Streaks have won the last two matchups in the series between these two LHS squads and 3 out of the last 4 overall. Louisville still leads the all-time series 25-20 which includes a 12-11 mark in games played at Lake.
