The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell to the host Howland Tigers 50-45 Wednesday Night at Howland High School. With the loss, Louisville drops to 4-6 on the year.

Paige Cole and Sherilynn Mullett both scored a team-high 14 points each to lead the Lady Leopards. Cole scored 6 of her points in the fourth quarter as Louisville nearly rallied to take the lead late. Erin Hahn also made 2 three-pointers and hit double figures with 10.

It was a slow start out of the gate in terms of scoring as the Tigers took a 5-4 lead at the end of the first before the Leopards jumped ahead 16-15 at halftime. The pace picked up in the third quarter as Howland more than doubled their total to take a 31-29 lead into the final stanza.

Louisville managed to cut the deficit to 46-45 with just 36 seconds remaining. Gibson stole a pass attempt in the backcourt and Mullett scored on the fast break after a rebound.

After a timeout, Ochman hit a pair of free throws with 31 seconds remaining to put Howland ahead 48-45. On the other end, the Tigers Kayla Clark registered a clutch block under the hoop and Howland retained possession as time ticked away. Dellimuti was fouled and iced two free throws from the line to seal the game for the Tigers.

With the loss, the Leopards are now 0-2 against the Tigers all-time with both games played in each of the past two seasons. Howland won at Louisville 65-51 last season on December 30, 2017.
