The Louisville defense suffocated Central in holding them to just a single field goal in each of the first two quarters. The Leopards led 13-4 at the end of the first and went ahead 31-6 by halftime. Louisville put the nail in the coffin in the third quarter which saw them outscore the Crusaders 27-11 to take a commanding 58-17 lead into the fourth quarter. Central would again manage just a single field goal in the final period against the stout LHS defense. Louisville outscored them 10-6 in the fourth to finish the game.
The Lady Crusaders were led by Leyna Heather who hit 2 three-pointers and finished with a team-high 8. Grace Turner also scored 7 and Claire Eberhardt added 4.
With the victory, Louisville has now defeated Central in 4 of their past 5 meetings. The Lady Leopards still trail the all-time series 21-22 which includes a 9-10 record in games played at CCHS. The 45-point victory is the most lopsided win in the series by either team after the two squads split overtime wins in their past two matchups in 2017 and 2018.
