Louisville Falls on the Road at Canfield 49-42 – Girls Basketball

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Basketball Team fell on the road 49-42 against the host Canfield Cardinals Monday Night at CHS. With the loss, Louisville falls to an even 2-2 on the year.
Kayla Gibson hit 3 first half three-pointers and scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Lady Leopards. Paige Cole also scored 9 of her 11 points in the second half. Both Kelsey Adelman and Sherilynn Mullett scored 6 each for LHS as well.
The two teams played an even back-and-forth game through the first three quarters with Canfield maintaining a slight lead at the end of each period. The Cardinals led 10-9 after one, 25-23 at the half, and 37-36 heading into the fourth quarter. Canfield doubled up Louisville 12-6 in the final stanza to take the contest.
The Cardinals (3-0) were led by Grace Mangapora who scored a game-high 23 points. Alyssa Dill also hit a pair of three-pointers in scoring 13 and Summer Sammaron added 6 for Canfield.
With the loss, the Leopards have now lost to the Cardinals in each of their past four meetings. Louisville now trails the all-time series 3-9 which includes a 1-4 mark in games played at Canfield.
UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next host the Massillon Tigers on Monday, December 9. JV will begin at 6:00 PM and Varsity will follow around 7:30 PM.
