Louisville Blasts Boardman – Girls Lacrosse

The Louisville Leopards Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team beat the host Boardman Spartans 18-5 Tuesday Night. With the victory, Louisville improves their Leopard Head Long Sleeve Blue Shirt - Under Armor - Beatty's Sports Spring 2017undefeated mark to 9-0 on the year.

Alexa Oberster scored a game-high 7 goals, fielded 3 ground balls, and tallied an assist to lead the Leopards. Kloe Mercorelli and Marissa Vick both finished with a hat trick to spark the Louisville offense as well.

The Leopards dominated from start to finish. They outscored the Spartans 14-2 in the first half and cruised to victory after that.

Katie Hollifield and Mandy Wesely added a pair of goals each for Louisville. Wesley also recorded a team-high 7 ground balls and Hollifield finished with Grove Appliance Alliance Ohio Adan assist. Haley Black also found the back of the net once and assisted two other Leopard goals.

Freshman Lia Meckel filled in at goalie for Louisville. She finished with 8 saves on the evening.

This was the first ever meeting between the two teams after their matchup was cancelled twice last season. The Lady Leopards are now 4-0 on their current road trip which concludes Thursday at GlenOak.

UP NEXT: The Lady Leopards will next travel to GlenOak to take on the Golden Eagles on Thursday, May 4 at 7:00 PM.
