Louisville Clinches Share of the NBC with 14-1 Win Over West Branch
Louisville 14, West Branch 1, 5 Innings
In their last game again Central, the Leopards surrendered nine runs in the fifth inning. Tuesday evening at Louisville High School, the Leopards decided to re-mimic the feat of the Crusaders by pounding West Branch for nine runs in the third inning en route to a 14-1 five inning win over the Warriors. With the win the Leopards clinch at least a share of the NBC with an 11-2 mark in the conference.
Mike Kelly pitched all five innings and surrendered just a single opening inning run. Kelly allowed just three hits, only walked one, and struck out five Warriors. He also had two hits and scored three runs leading off on offense.
Jeremy White also crossed home three times and had two hits. Chad Neff and Adam Nees each had a pair of hits and Dillon Stertzbach led the Leps with three RBIs. Surprisingly, Sterzbach had the Leopards only extra base hit of the game with a double in the nine-run third inning.
With one conference game remaining, Louisville clinches at least a share of the NBC with an 11-2 record. The Leopards will play at West Branch Friday at 4:30 for the outright crown.
