Louisville Clinches Share of NBC Title With Shutout of Salem
Louisville 5, Salem 0
The Louisville Leopards won every match in straight sets in cruising to a 5-0 shutout of the visiting Salem Quakers. This win, along with West Branch’s 3-2 loss to Alliance, gives Louisville at least a share of the 2014 NBC Boys Tennis Title. The Leopards are now 13-1 overall and 8-0 in NBC play.
Despite the windy conditions, all three singles players won 6-0, 6-0. They included Jake Pukys, Nick Knebl, and Vic Knebl.
Both Doubles Teams dominated as well. Alex Hall & Hunter Williams won #1 Doubles 6-2, 6-2 and Andy Hall & Kyle Robinson took the #2 Doubles match 6-3, 6-1.
With the victory, Louisville has now shutout Salem in 4 straight meetings and leads the all-time series 12-1.
UP NEXT: The Leopard will next travel to West Branch to take on the Warriors on Thursday, May 1 at 4:15 PM. A win over West Branch will clinch the NBC Title Outright.
