Louisville proceeded to recover a Springfield fumble on the kickoff to retain possession after that. On a 3rd-and-20 play Manko found Adam Reinford for a 33 yard touchdown pass with 10:44 left in the game. Manko also connected with Anthony Volpe for the two-point conversion to put the Leopards in front 17-14.
The Spartans drove the Leopard 37 on their final drive of the contest, but a 4th-and-3 pass fell incomplete. Louisville won the game despite being out-gained 227-219 in offense and Springfield also recorded more first downs 11-8. The Spartans were led by Josh Church who scored on a pair of short touchdown runs in the first half.
