Louisville’s fourth quarter rally fell 14 yards short as host Kent Roosevelt won 14-7 in a Week 2 Football contest back on September 8, 1995.
The Rough Riders took a 14-0 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Andy Nash returned a fumble 37 yards for a touchdown with 0:40 left in the second quarter and Jason Boykin scored from 2 yards out in the third period. Boykin would finish as the games leading rusher with 24 carries for 80 yards.
The Leopards only score came with 9:35 left in the fourth quarter when Anthony Buccasso punched in from a yard out. The Leopards threatened to score late, but only managed to gain 9 yards on a 4th-and-10 with just 40 seconds remaining.
Louisville out-gained Kent Roosevelt 136-130 offensively. Leif Erickson led all Leopard rushers with 10 carries for 58 yards. Cory Kuhn also carried the ball 10 times for 41 yards and caught 2 passes for 26 yards. The Leopard defense did not allow a yard through the air as the Rough Riders did all their damage on the ground.
